Installing Sherpa

What is Sherpa?

If you are unfamiliar with what Sherpa is or does, please read this page from our Guided Tour.

Supported Devices

Currently, Sherpa supports the following devices:
  • iPod Nano
  • iPod Mini
  • "Classic-style" iPod, all generations (including iPod Photo)
    • Now known as "iPod Classic"
    • Previously called "iPod 20GB", "iPod 80GB" etc

Sherpa does not currently support iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch or iPhone. If you have one of these unsupported devices, please do not install or run Sherpa.

Playtripper cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur as a result of using Sherpa with an unsupported device.

Is it safe to use Sherpa?

For peace of mind, Sherpa takes a backup of all the "special" files it changes, so you can always reset your iPod back to its original state at any time.
